About Me

Amy Writes is a collection of generally unrelated thoughts produced inconsistently by me, Amy, a stay-at-home mother of three and wife of one.

My writing credentials are sketchy - there were those articles in the college paper and a press release or two that may or may not have included Pat Sajak. Other than that, what you see is what you get.

My education is also sketchy. I did graduate from college - a very excellent one, I might add - but not with a degree that qualifies me to write about anything with any authority, so read at your own risk.

I do have a few specialties and they are, in no particular order, The Masterful Artistry of One Mr. Billy Joel, The Crazy Genius and Heart Melting Capabilities of One Mr. Harry Connick, Jr., The Unparalleled Live Performances and Brilliant Lyrics of Sister Hazel, from Gainesville, FL. I also write about every day things, like grace and faith and depravity and failure and theology and church.

I am a trained classical pianist and I can crochet and run a mile. I have the greatest friends in the world and an even better family. I am privileged to homeschool my children, and some days I am actually lucky enough to remember that this is a privilege.

I have been married to God's perfect man for me for more than 13 years and plan to stay married for 113 more.

If life is a story and one's faith journey is the main theme, then I am in the final chapter which I hope will go on for a very long time. Having passed from Creation through Fall and Redemption, I am now in the process of being Restored, which is perhaps all you really need to know about me.

Thanks for reading.
-Amy
